About David Chess

Ever since I was ten, I had the desire to serve. To make a difference. I decided that the best way to do that was to become a physician. I wanted to reach and help as many people as I could, in the most effective way I knew how.

I moved to Stratford 40 years ago, and opened a practice in a carriage house behind my home. The practice grew very quickly, and we built a new location on Silver Lane. We created PriMed, what became the largest medical practice in Fairfield County, with more than 100 clinicians serving our community.

Along the way, my wife and I have raised five great kids. And while many people know me as a doctor and dad, others have come to know me as an entrepreneur and community advocate. I care deeply about Stratford and I’m determined to do more.

I’m not interested in traditional politics. I’m interested in using my knowledge and experience fixing things and building businesses, to help manage the difficulties our community deals with everyday.

We all take pride in our town. I love Stratford. But it is not without its issues. Our taxes are too high. It’s time to expand our economic base and raise revenue in new, creative ways; and we owe it to our children to provide a world class public education. There is a lot to do.

I’m David Chess, and I’m running for mayor here in Stratford. I look forward to getting to know you and sharing my ideas on how to unlock Stratford’s potential, and make this town work for everyone.
